The band was founded in the second half of the 90s, by a group of friends, native of Florence neighborough their main target was to propose a different and relatively rare in the Italian musical background of the moment : the “Ska” . The band’s name, first of all, is an ironical pseudo Anglophonic “cacophony” as an allusion or a reference to the old garage where the group get together to play, but also it’s a tribute to one of the mythical Jamaican musician, who invented this kind of music: Clement Seymour Dodd, called: “Sir”. Initially, this kind of music is a soft “Ska-Punk”, with some linking “wealthy” elements in common with the English end of the 70s, “Punk” , even if played in an amusing and easy-going version, permeated of a so called “demential” covering. During the years, their music becomes more refined, through the research of a instrumental - melodic “Groove” closer to the earliest 80s. “Ska” revival , proposing on first plane to evidence the “wind” instruments , mainly evidencing the Jazz and latino-american music, and on the other hand it is inspired by the traditional Italian music re-edited in a new and elaborated key, with 80s post-pop suggestions. In their concerts the “Sir Randha” plays a repertoire consisting of many covers of the most famous Ska groups (“Rocksteady”, “Two Tone”) and by their original songs that are in the recent album “Skankin Twins 2”. The disc was a product of the collaboration with the French group “Ska War”, for the “Kob Records”, and it represents an important moment as further occasion and opportunity for the launching prime of the Tuscan band on a more wider market addressed toward a wider fans. The “Sir Randha” disc is made of five of their original pieces and one cover ( six one, from the “Ska War”), four of which (La Journée, Centroamerica, Fuga da Skalcatraz, Gudbai) signed by Riccardo Zini. In 2004 the song “Centroamerica” was published in “Skannibal Party Vol. 4”, a compilation produced by the famous German label “Mad Butcher Records”.
